“The King’s Decree” is a deep, intense, historically grounded hip-hop track retelling the moment when King Antiochus IV issued the order that changed everything — the decree that sparked the Maccabean revolt and ultimately led to the Feast of Dedication (Hanukkah).
Drawn directly from 1 Maccabees 1:41–53, this song breaks down the king’s forced “unity” command:
“One people. One law. One king.”
But that unity meant erasing Torah, banning Sabbath, outlawing sacrifice, forcing idolatry, and punishing anyone who remained faithful.
This track teaches what most people NEVER learn:
