Somethings Make More Sense When Translated Correctly

In this article I talk about why Satan would prefer the meaning of the Greek term "ekklēsia" to stay hidden behind the translated term "church." His strategy has always been to obscure critical terms,..

Some time back I wrote an article explaining why Satan influenced the mind of Saint Jerome to transliterate the Greek noun “christianos” in the Latin Vulgate as “christiani.” I believe I stated that Satan desired to distort what it means so that he could create a religion called “Christianity” with believers who are called “Christian.” There is nothing wrong with a transliteration, but the overall problem is that the meaning for christianos” doesn’t hold well in the minds of men today. The above statement leads one to believe that the early believers in the Anointed One were Christians, not slaves. Satan doesn’t want that image in your mind because he desires to maintain control over you and keep you in bondage to sin. Simply put, a slave of the Anointed One does only what his master orders him, and since Yahushuah stated on several occasions to “sin no more,” a slave would do nothing to disobey his master. Those who walk in the flesh are in slavery to sin and obey the impulses that Satan fosters in their minds. Under those circumstances it is challenging for them to find freedom under their own power. So they continue to sin. I mean, think about it: the kingdom of God is a government that has a king who rules over a domain and the people of that domain and is the only judge who can decree laws and determine a judicial sentence for a sin that should be translated as a “crime.” Such an arrangement hardly sounds like a religion. You let me know what you think in my comment section. So if the king owns you, you belong to the government, like the military belongs to the weak US president. But again, please let me know what you think in the comments.

I am a student of Hebrew and Greek grammar, so if this makes sense, I would hope that's why. I am gradually immersing myself in the study of Ugaritic, Akkadian, Aramaic, and other Semitic languages. I study them because I want to have a better understanding of what I read in the writings of Moses and the prophets. If you are still with me, you begin, like I did, to look at more terms in the Bible. Suddenly, after watching a lengthy YouTube video of a Hebrew Israelite message that thoroughly bored me, I realized that the translation of "church" serves the same purpose as the other terms I mentioned earlier. However, this one is extremely critical.

The Greek word for “church” has a potent meaning backed by an image that you need to understand, which is the reason Yahushuah was building his body of believers. The Greek term for “church” is “ekklēsia” and is better translated as “assembly.” It should be translated this way because the imagery, which Satan didn’t want you to see, brings life and purpose to the scriptures. Before we can understand the term in question, we must look at something Moses asked.

When God spoke to Moses about all the things that he wanted him to do, Moses knew that when he went to the sons of Jacob, they would ask him, Who is this God, and what is his name?” One of God’s responses is below:

And I appeared unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob, by the name of God Almighty, but by my name JEHOVAH was I not known to them. And I have also established my covenant with them, to give them the land of Canaan, the land of their pilgrimage, wherein they were strangers.” Exodus 6:3-4 KJV.

I don’t mean to poke fun at any Christian or my Hebrew Israelite brothers, but I must point out what you have overlooked. In God’s statement to Moses, he makes a clear distinction about what he calls himself. Take notice of the portions that I will point out:

And I appeared unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob, by the name of God Almighty..

Now take a look at this statement:

but by my name JEHOVAH was I not known to them.

Have you viewed the distinction? If not, allow me to point it out to you. The distinction is in the phrases “by the name” and “by my name.” One belongs to God, and the other does not belong to him, which means that he appropriates the name “God Almighty.” Where does the name “God Almighty” come from, and why is the one true God appropriating this name?

The name of the Canaanite/Ugaritic god is ‘il, from which we derive "EL" in Hebrew. El presides over the Canaanite pantheon. A few of his titles are "King" (malku), ʾAb šnm (Father of Years), ʾEl gibbōr (El the Warrior), and lṭpn wqdš (the Gracious and Holy One), just to name a few. El of the Canaanite pantheon was also considered the creator of heaven and earth. Our God, whose name is Yahuah, was not the god of the Canaanites. He appropriated the name of a false god because of his characteristics and applied it to himself to teach the sons of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob who he was, what he was like, and what he would do. The sons of Jacob were taught about this living God who called himself El, the one who revealed himself as El to our fathers Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.

Anyone who tells you that God hasn’t appropriated the name of this god who called himself El either is disingenuous or knows very little about Our Most High God. Yahuah also claimed this title for himself— Most High God, or El Elyon. The Canaanite 'il—the father of the gods—lived in a tent on a cosmic mountain that had a river flowing from its base. The Canaanite god ‘il was the head of the assembly that met to discuss certain matters related to order in heaven and earth. The Canaanite ‘il was not only the king but also the only one who could decree laws. The assembly that came together on the cosmic mountain of El was called after the plural form of this false god’s name. Collectively, the sons of 'il, the Canaanite gods, were known as 'ilm, or Elohim.

Moses shows us the function of this assembly called Elohim by mocking them in several places. Keep in mind that the Elohim came together at the cosmic mountain of El, in the tent where El resides, to discuss certain matters, and then El decreed that these things take place. I will present a few instances of Yahuah appropriating as 'il among the sons of 'il, collectively referred to as the Elohim or the ‘ilm—the divine counsel!

26) [And [Elohim] said] [we will make] [a Man] [in our image] [according to our likeness] [And let them rule] [over {the} fish] [in {the} sea] [and over {the} wing] [of the sea of waters] [and over a beast] [and over all the Earth] [and over all] [the creeping animals] [that {is} creeping] [on the Earth] 27) [So [Elohim] created] [The Man] [in his image,] [in {the} image] [of Elohim] [he created] [him,] [a male] [and a female] [he created] [them].” Genesis 1:26-27 My Provisionary Hebrew Translation

Here, EL and the sons of EL are assembled together; we know that Elohim has finished discussing matters related to “the Man” and that El has made a decree. “[we will make] [a Man] [in our image] [according to our likeness] [And let them rule] [over {the} fish] [in {the} sea] [and over {the} wing] [of the sea of waters] [and over a beast] [and over all the Earth] [and over all] [the creeping animals] [that {is} creeping] [on the Earth]

In this context, Moses employs Canaanite mythological imagery to mock the Canaanites by asserting that the one true God of heaven and earth is the God of the Hebrews and that He is the creator of not only heaven and earth but also "The Man." Just to let you know, Moses threads together both Canaanite and Egyptian mythological imagery to explain the literal creation of heaven and earth in the beginning. So in Genesis chapters 1-3, Moses intertwines borrowed mythological imagery, prophecy, and literal history to explain how this realm came into existence. To benefit my interested subscribers, I will openly present some of those details in layers. I will do so because I want to make sure that I am not violating this precept:

Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you.” Matthew 7:6 KJV

Yahushuah's statement implies that we should not feed the holy food (the word of God) to those who are unclean (dogs), nor should we give what we value (the word of God) to swine (those who are unclean), as they will trample the truth to the ground and tear you apart. Yahushuah never meant for any level of instruction to be openly taught in mass. To repent and believe the gospel of Mashiach's birth, death, and resurrection, one must first hear the message of an evangelist. Jude, Paul, and Peter warned us that false teachers would come. These false teachers are the very ones openly teaching on television, YouTube, TikTok, podcasts, etc. If you claim to be teaching God’s word, allowing for any individual to consume what is holy and valuable, you:

  1. Do not possess the truth.
  2. You are teaching lies.

How do I know? Because God will not provide the truth to those who openly teach those who you haven’t confirmed are truly born again. Jude warned us about what happened in their time by saying it this way:

4) [For] [some] [men] [entered {in} secretly] — [those] [written {about} before,] [long ago]— [to] [this] [the] [Sentence,] [the] [ungodly,] [{those} distorting] [the] [favor] [of our] [God] [into] [self-indulgence] [and] [denying] [the] [only] [master] [and] [Yahuah,] [our] [God] [Jesus] [{the} Anointed One].” Jude 1 —My Provisionary Greek Translation

Jude asserted that individuals entered the fold covertly, implying they were not reborn, and they were able to access and manipulate the truth. The Apostles kept the truth so secret that people pretended to believe the gospel to hear the teachings they gained via revelation from the Anointed One. This was the only way for the men Jude refers to in his writings to enter the flock. There is another example of such conduct in the book of Acts. There are several examples, but I will show you what Luke wrote.

And certain men which came down from Judaea taught the brethren, and said, Except ye be circumcised after the manner of Moses, ye cannot be saved. When therefore Paul and Barnabas had no small dissension and disputation with them, they determined that Paul and Barnabas, and certain other of them, should go up to Jerusalem unto the apostles and elders about this question And being brought on their way by the church, they passed through Phenice and Samaria, declaring the conversion of the Gentiles: and they caused great joy unto all the brethren. And when they were come to Jerusalem, they were received of the church, and of the apostles and elders, and they declared all things that God had done with them. But there rose up certain of the sect of the Pharisees which believed, saying, That it was needful to circumcise them, and to command them to keep the law of Moses. And the apostles and elders came together for to consider of this matter. And when there had been much disputing, Peter rose up, and said unto them, Men and brethren, ye know how that a good while ago God made choice among us, that the Gentiles by my mouth should hear the word of the gospel, and believe. And God, which knoweth the hearts, bare them witness, giving them the Holy Ghost, even as he did unto us; And put no difference between us and them, purifying their hearts by faith. Now therefore why tempt ye God, to put a yoke upon the neck of the disciples, which neither our fathers nor we were able to bear? But we believe that through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ we shall be saved, even as they.” Acts 15:1-11 KJV

The sad thing is that you have many YouTube teachers who are influencing people, both Christians and Hebrew Israelites, to return to the law of Moses, having no clue about the distinctions Moses makes between the commandments, the statutes and judgments, the Law (Torah), and the testimonies. As a result, they spread misinformation online with a significantly wider reach than the Apostles had in their time, and they do so at a much faster rate. Everyone claims to keep the Sabbath, not knowing that the 7th day doesn’t always fall on Saturday. Yes, what and who you are listening to are more lies. These so-called giants in the faith are the very individuals Jude speaks about. You are worried about Christians when you should be concerned about both parties.

I thank God I learned this quick. I break up the teaching and leave it in pieces so that no one who hasn't been called to teach can take what I wrote or said and distort the truth. You may distort a piece, but a whole puzzle can be complete and clearly viewed with a few pieces damaged or missing. And that is why I made the video, “Why Did Yahushuah Speak in Parables?” I did so to show you that Yahushuah only explained his parables openly to his disciples, not the major crowds that followed him, and didn’t commit to learning the details of the oral doctrine that explained the law of Moses. However, I would prefer to have a small group with me rather than multitudes of pretenders whose only purpose is to distort and trample the truth.

Now that I have pointed out who the Elohim are, let me show you why Satan would prefer you to retain the term “church” over “assembly.” Satan prefers you to avoid the term "assembly" when referring to the body of believers in the Anointed One because it conveys a significant parabolic image that illustrates your spiritual reality in the Anointed One. This spiritual reality is stated parabolically and will literally take place at the coming of the Anointed One.

I told you that God uses false gods' names and mythological imagery to teach his people about himself and his actions. While God is mocking these ancient religions, he is also hiding the truth. Only those who understand the cultural settings of these ancient people and their belief systems can discern, with the help of God’s spirit, what God is conveying through Moses and the prophets. So let me show you the assembly of El in action and then show you their gathering together to speak on the things done by way of El’s decree.

And when they had preached the word in Perga, they went down into Attalia: And thence sailed to Antioch, from whence they had been recommended to the grace of God for the work which they fulfilled. And when they were come, and had gathered the church (assembly) together, they rehearsed all that God (El) had done with them, and how he had opened the door of faith unto the Gentiles.” Acts 14:25-28 KJV

Remember, the workers of the assembly have already been issued a decree and are carrying out their assigned tasks. Who sent out that decree? Yahushuah Hamashiach.

Afterward he appeared unto the eleven as they sat at meat, and upbraided them with their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they believed not them which had seen him after he was risen. And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. And these signs shall follow them that believe: In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; they shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.” Mark 16:14-18 KJV

Yahushuah, the king, is issuing a decree on what should be done on earth in his name, and his workers are doing it. The scriptures convey more profound meanings than the so-called privileged few among you can teach to their crowd of pretenders. I am just a small voice among them, willing to guide you through a small portion of "the way" in a piecemeal manner. Eventually, I will integrate these pieces to provide you with a comprehensive understanding of the truth. Until then, shalom!
