Israel unto us a child was born, unto us a son was given, and unto us a king was given

It was foretold by the prophets that to Israel a child was born and to Israel, a son was given and to Israel, a king was given. The rulership over the kingdom territory of our God and over the earth will be on his shoulder.
But what has happened? what happened to the son and king that was given to us -Israel? Moreover what happened to his generation -(the 3rd generation of Israel in the promised land)? What does the future hold for them?
