Well, the United States government just passed $1.7 trillion spending package as this bill made it through the House and then the Senate and President Biden signed it into law. Biden signed this while vacationing on the Caribbean Island of Saint Croix.
Now, I have long been an advocate for politicians taking vacations. In fact, I have stated before that I think our country would be much better off if the only thing politicians were paid for was to do absolutely nothing, because at least they cannot screw the country up.
But I did not consider that they could do both at the same time. They could sign into law a giant spending package while on vacation in their Caribbean islands. So, the question is, what is in this $1.7 trillion bill? And the answer is nobody knows.

BP agreed to pay around $10bn (£8bn) to a businessman involved in a suspicious energy deal.
The energy giant bought Frank Timis' stake in a gas field off the coast of Senegal for $250 million in 2017.
But documents obtained by BBC Panorama and Africa Eye reveal that BP was also projected to pay his company between $9bn and $12bn in royalties.

In 1948, Britain was just starting to recover from World War II. Thousands of buildings had been bombed, loads of houses were destroyed and it all needed to be rebuilt.
In the Caribbean, lots of young men and women had served in the British armed forces because at the time, many Caribbean countries were still under British rule and not yet independent.
After the war, some of these people answered an advert to come to Britain where there were lots of different jobs to do.
Other people just wanted to see Britain, which they had heard so much about.
The Windrush scandal is a 2018 British political scandal concerning people who were wrongly detained, denied legal rights, threatened with deportation, and, in around 63 cases, wrongly deported from the UK by the Home Office.
