“Burned But Not Forgotten” is built on 1 Maccabees 1:54–58, one of the most painful and powerful chapters in the Hanukkah story — a part rarely taught today.
This passage records:
• the abomination of desolation set up on the altar
• idol altars built throughout Judah
• incense burned at every door and in every street
• the books of the Law torn and burned
• anyone found with a scroll being put to death
• monthly persecutions across the cities
• Israel living under terror for keeping covenant
• Torah keepers hunted and murdered
• the sacred flame replaced with strange fire
• the Word of Elohim treated like ash — yet still alive
This song blends spoken lament, poetic narration, neo-soul vocals, and gospel harmonies to retell this moment when Israel seemed crushed… yet the covenant endured.
This is not just music — it’s oral history revived for a generation returning to the roots of Hanukkah.

Matthew 7 Judge not, that ye be not judged.
2 For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.
3 And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?

Shalam & HaLaL YaH!
This is Psalm 5, read from the Easy-to-Read Version (ERV) with Set-Apart Names restored: Yahuah, Yahusha, and Ruach Ha’Qodesh.
In this Psalm, Dawid (David) lifts a heartfelt morning prayer to Yahuah—seeking guidance, protection, and justice. It reminds us that Yahuah hears the cries of the righteous but stands against the wicked.
“But let all who take refuge in You be glad; let them ever sing for joy.” (Psalm 5:11)
This prayer is for those who want to start the day walking in YAH’s truth, shielded by His favor and love.
May this reading inspire you to begin each morning seeking Yahuah’s direction and covering.
