Artists' Bio:
Joy Lester is a native of Grand Rapids, Michigan. She is a Preacher’s Kid from a large family who, on occasions, would be requested to sing before her father brought the message.
As an adult, her gifting of music opened doors to hold the position as a worship leader of a predominately Spanish-speaking church. In addition, Joy has sung professional background vocals for an award-winning Gospel Artist.
Her passions include writing songs from scripture and writing poetry. She has a desire to use her voice as a mighty weapon to pull down strongholds according to II Corinthians 10:4; “For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through Yah to the pulling down of strongholds”.
Joy Lester holds a Diploma of Theology from Faith Christian University. She is a wife, mother, and grandmother, who currently resides in Davie, Florida where she and her husband minister to teenage boys.

Many of us that are walking in truth of the Most HIgh have described the beginnings as an internal calling, an "awakening". Something internally shifted revealing the deeper meaning of the script, the layered understanding that's been illuminated in each of us. That's the spiritual compass that have directed our steps guiding us towards our Abba.

The African Union is condemning a wave of coups in Africa, where military forces have seized power over the past 18 months in Mali, Chad, Guinea, Sudan and, most recently, in January, Burkina Faso. Several were led by U.S.-trained officers as part of a growing U.S. military presence in the region under the guise of counterterrorism, which is a new imperial influence that supplements the history of French colonialism, says Brittany Meché, assistant professor at Williams College. Some coups have been met with celebration in the streets, signaling armed revolt has become the last resort for people dissatisfied with unresponsive governments. "Between the U.S.-led war on terror and the wider international community's fixation on security, this is a context that centers, if not privileges, military solutions to political problems," adds Samar Al-Bulushi, contributing editor for Africa Is a Country.
