The elders would counsel the groom and get to understand where he's at in his walk of faith and make a decision after a while to see if it is a good match for marriage. And notice that I didn't say date because in the beast world that breeds fornication. Now if she doesn't belong to an assembly nor is advised by elders then she may not be in the walk.
